Do note that the Foundation and of course myself does not ‘lead’ the protocol. We exist to support the ecosystem. The ultimate decision makers are the DAO though of course the Foundation is independent from it.
While we note Praetorian’s contribution and his earnest and well meaning intention to serve as a Compliance Officer for the DAO zone, the Council is of the opinion that without the relevant compliance credentials and experience, the Foundation cannot fund this grant which I have communicated to the DAO Council privately prior to this message.
Ultimately, the DAO is free to choose the Compliance Officer of their Zone regardless of whether the Foundation approves the grant or not and I note there’s already an existing proposal to fund this from the DAO treasury.
