For those wondering when mainnet will launch, we want to provide some clarity on the process ahead. There are several important steps we must complete before we can activate mainnet.
As a DAO, each of these topics will be discussed sequentially on our forum and then put to a vote. Alongside the DAO process, there is some foundational development and coding work required to turn proposals into implementable actions.
While we don’t have an exact mainnet launch date yet, tracking our progress through these tasks should give everyone a sense of how close we are to the finish line. Our goal is to move quickly, but each step involves a discussion phase, a coding phase, and a voting phase, so some patience will be necessary.
Below is a list of key DAO tasks that need to occur:
-
Appointing Compliance Office and Grant - Completed
Vote on the Compliance Office role and request a Grant to reward them for work done. -
Emergency Stop Council Selection - PIP-25 - Voting Live
The DAO reviews and votes to form a new Emergency Stop Council Selection. -
Emergency Stop Council Access - PIP-25 - Voting Live
The DAO votes to remove old Inactive Veto Council members and activates access for the newly appointed members. -
Snapshot Module & Compliance Access Management - PIP-25 - Voting Live
The DAO votes to enable snapshot module management for snapshot admins and blacklisting capabilities for the compliance officer. -
Review & Propose Rewards Parameters - PIP-26
The community discusses and proposes the protocol’s reward structure.
(e.g., onboarding bonuses, miner/user rewards)
The council reviews input and creates a Panther Improvement Proposal (PIP) for rewards parameters to be voted on by the community. -
Compliance Officer: Limits & Approvals - In Progress
The compliance officer proposes operational limits (deposits, withdrawals, etc.).
The DAO reviews and approves these limits via a vote. -
Rewards Minting & Vesting Implementation - TBC
The DAO votes on and implements reward minting and vesting schedules from the Rewards pool allocation. -
Activation of Mainnet (v1) - TBC
After all above steps and code changes are complete, the DAO votes to activate mainnet.
